Deco Lighting Saves U.S. Marine Base Camp Pendleton 50% in Energy Costs with New Induction Lighting
The U.S. Marine Corps selected Deco Lighting's new Induction lighting fixtures for Camp Pendleton to provide 50% in energy savings, superior illumination and 100,000 hour life. At major bases throughout the U.S. and overseas, the U.S. military is replacing inefficient HID (high intensity discharge) lighting with Induction technology lighting. The U.S. military at these bases have determined Induction lighting delivers the best value for performance, energy savings, superior visibility, and long term maintenance savings.
Deco Lighting replaced inefficient HID high pressure sodium cobrahead fixtures at Camp Pendleton with their D8628i Anaconda Induction cobraheads. Immediate 50% utility energy savings are achieved due to Induction lamp efficiency that produces similar light levels with half the wattage. The extraordinary 100,000 hour life of the Induction lamp, versus 24,000 hours for high pressure sodium, provides substantial long term maintenance savings. Four cycles of relamping parts and labor costs are saved over the life of the new Induction lighting system. Sodium lamps exhibit poor color with a yellowish cast, and cycle on and off when approaching end of lamp life. Like all HID lamps, they require several minutes for full brightness after start-up or power interruption, and use electrodes subject to breakage from vibration and temperature extremes. Benefits of the new Deco Lighting Induction luminaires include cleaner, whiter illumination for better visibility and safety, electrodeless lamp design for vibration resistance and durability, and instant-on performance with no warm-up or restrike delays.
