Emergency lighting systems deserve special attention to assure code compliance and the safety of the applications’ occupants. Deco Lighting’s outdoor fixtures along with our emergency ballasts are integral to a well-designed emergency lighting system.

Our emergency ballasts operate in conjunction with the fixture’s ballast and provide instant emergency lighting when normal power fails. The ballast can be retrofitted in, on top of, or remote mounted to existing fixtures like troffers, wraparounds, channels, industrials and even decorative ceiling and wall fixtures. Either installation provides a discreet source of emergency illumination.

Outdoor Emergency Ballasts should be selected based upon the application, number of occupants, path of egress, time required to exit, and additional emergency lighting fixtures. Consideration for the number of occupants is necessary, especially for healthcare, hotel and educational applications, where additional emergency illumination might be required for a safe evacuation. With a minimum of 90-minutes of emergency illumination, Deco’s emergency ballasts meet or exceed codes.
