What is Chromate Conversion?
Chromate conversion is a chemical treatment process for aluminum that provides protection from corrosion and enhances the ability of paint and/or adhesives to “bond” with the aluminum. During this nine-stage process, the surface of the aluminum reacts with the coating treatments and becomes a part of the coating. The coating consists of a thin film on the surface which is soft when freshly formed, and then becomes a more abrasive resistant as it dries and ages. Deco Lighting is pleased to offer this feature on our HID products!
